Mappin & Webb - Edwardian silver bowl - 1908
Mappin & Webb - Edwardian silver bowl on three hoof feet – Sheffield 1908.
A good antique silver bowl in the Georgian revival style by the Royal silversmiths. The bowl gadrooned to the bottom and with a scalloped edge on three fine cast hoof feet with shell-form attachments to the bowl. Hallmarks for Sheffield 1908 and sponsor's/maker's mark for Mappin & Webb to the outside of the side of the bowl, together with retail mark:"Mappin and Webb, London" to the outside of the bottom.
12cm diameter x 5cm tall, weight 121g.
I trade in small silver, jewellery and objets d'art. I sell primarily at antiques fairs and in cabinets in Christique Antique Centre in Dorking. I try to find unusual and interesting stock and like to keep turning it over, so I can buy more. Postage and packing are free within the UK - unless explicitly stated otherwise. I keep hardly any stock at home, if you want to buy something and need it urgently, I will usually do it the next day, but it may take me some time to respond if you need extra photographs and/or details about the piece that I do not have to hand, as I typically visit the antiques centre just once a week.
