This is a heavy vintage fireplace set. An English, cast iron fire basket and grate in Medieval revival taste, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1950.

Of classic portcullis form, the bonded fire basket with half-dome back-plate
Wide fire grate separate to the basket affords ease of cleaning
Pleasingly heavy fire dogs with baluster columns and generous cups of 8cm diameter (3.25")
Raised upon demi-lune legs to front with splayed toes and long rear rests
