Georgian Silver Wirework Cream Pail / Sugar Basket
Very sweet silver wirework cream pail fitted with a blue glass liner. It is based on a wide frame of vertical wires applied with twining vines with leaves and grapes and 3 flying birds. It is finished with a rope twist to the rim and foot and matching swing handle. Unmarked but tested as silver, c.1790-1800.
It measures 10.5cm (4 1/8") high with the handle up, 6.3cm (2 1/2") to the rim and 8cm (3 1/8") wide.
Condition is very good. There is a very small slither chip to the outside edge of the liner but this is minimally detracting. No losses or damage to the silver, there is very fractional distortion to the frame in places and slightly to the handle as is often the case with wirework pieces but it is very minor. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost.
We wish to ensure all our customers are happy with their purchases and offer a full no quibble return policy for all items returned within 14 days. We ask that returns are notified within 7 days where possible. Return postage is the buyer's responsibility in terms of cost and safeguarding the item through transit.
