George V Silver Salad Servers Harrison Fisher 1912

Here we have a fine quality, heavy pair of George V Sterling Silver Salad Servers in the traditional Old English pattern. The servers have a monogram of the letters M W C boldly engraved at the tops of the stems.
The salad servers were made in Sheffield by Harrison Fisher & Co and date to 1912. Harrison Fisher founded his company at the Trafalgar Works in Sheffield in 1897 as electroplaters, silversmiths and cutlers and was soon joined by his brother-in-law Samuel Lawton. After Harrison’s early death in 1907 his widow Ethel married Samuel Inman in 1911. In the 1960s they launched the Kitchen Devils range of kitchen knives. Now renamed Taylor’s Eye Witness Ltd, the firm remains under the control of the Fisher and Inman families to this day.
Condition is very good, with no dings or dents and just the superficial surface wear that has to be expected after over 110 years of good service. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
This is a well made set in a heavy gauge of silver. Each piece is 21.5cm / 8.5ins long and 5.1cm / 2ins across the bowl. The pair together weigh in at a substantial 174.4g / 6.15oz of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks, on the undersides of the stems, are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the crown assay mark for Sheffield, the Gothic date letter u for 1912 and the H.F & Co makers' mark for Harrison Fisher & Co.
Shipping in the UK is £11 by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes cover for the value of the salad servers.
Overseas customers, please ask us about shipping costs to your country before making a purchase.
