George V Cut Glass Vanity Pot, W.J. Myatt, 1921
Here we have an attractive George V Cut Glass Dressing Table Pot with a Sterling Silver lid. The pot is sarcophagus shaped with all around diamond cut decoration with star cut decoration on the underside of the base. The silver lid has a planished or hammered finish with a gilt interior. The cartouche in the centre is blank making this ideal as a gift.
The dressing table pot is made by W.J. Myatt & Co in Birmingham and dates to 1921. Founded around 1900 and based in Birmingham's famous Jewellery Quarter, W.J. Myatt specialised in small silver items primarily for personal use such as dressing table sets, pin cushions, shoe horns, button hooks, ring trees and desk calendars.
