Charming George I Britannia standard silver caudle cup with fluted wrythen lower half and embossed gadrooned band around the foot and just below the rim. Engraved fan shaped bands run above and below the main gadrooned band and further above the top of the wrythen fluting. Set on a pedestal collet foot with lovely scrolled handles with cast ridged detailing. It maintains a pale gilt interior. Additionally there has been some later embossing and engraving to one side to create an ornate framed cartouche with Victorian dedication. Fully marked with the lion's head erased, Britannia mark, dated for 1716 and maker's mark for Joseph Bell I.

It measures 11.7cm (4 5/8") high and 17.2cm (6 3/4") by 9.8cm (3 7/8") wide. It weighs 247g/7.9ozt.

Condition is good for age a couple of minor surface dints, a small dent at the base of one handle and a small tear near the base of the other.
