Fine William IV Ornate Silver Mustard Pot Lias
A fine quality and very attractive William IV silver mustard pot fitted with blue glass liner. Of circular form with embossed decoration all around of flowers and foliage set amongst scrolls. The hinged lid is domed with matching embossed decoation and finished with a finely cast flower bud knop. Set on a collet ring around the base drawn down to 4 splayed feet, all cast with similar organic and floral decoration along with a cast ear shape handle with acanthus leaf decoration amongst other ornate detailing. The inside of the pot is gilded to the base and lid. Hallmarked to the base for London 1834, makers John, Henry & Charles Lias and the lid has matching date and London mark inside.
It measures 7.5cm (3") high, 11.5cm (4 1/2") long and 9cm (3 1/2") wide. It weighs 243g in total the silver weight is 169g/6.0ozt. Condition is excellent with no damage, repairs or dents and very light surface wear. The hallmarks are perfect and the glass liner is also fine. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
