Exceptional Carved Fireside Store - Victorian Oak - c1850
This early Victorian Oak flap-front coal/wood store cabinet complete with shovel is presented in exceptional condition and is a superior example.
Of solid English oak throughout this wonderfully carved piece benefits from a rear brass loop handle and a splendid relief carved top handle with oak leaf detailing. Further oak carving is present to the top and the lift flap is magnificently embellished with a lions head mask at the centre.
The cabinet is complete with matching oak handled fuel shovel.
Overall a super piece of fireside antique furniture which looks attractive and functions nicely. Classic English oak country craftsmanship - we have not seen better.
