A stunning example of a Mid 20th Century German periscope manufactured by the iconic German optics company Carl Zeiss. Manly used during the cold war along the Berlin wall this stunning piece of equipment can used with any room with a view to its full potential but is also a extremely decorative and rare item from the cold war era. They were designed for observational purposes with precision angled prismatic lenses being fully adjustable in height and range of field from 60 degrees above the horizon to 20 degrees below enabling viewing from land to air. There are many features including dual spirit levels and etchings to denote visual field measurements, a flip down internal sun-shield, external adjustable anti-glare hood and humidity reduction crystals to add to the visual clarity. This striking periscope has been fully polished to reveal a truly beautiful item for display purposes which is fully functional for use but is also an important optic with historical value. Dating to circa 1960 the periscope can still be housed in its original green painted wooden transit case once taken from its tripod.

We have a reputation for being long established antique dealers in London having had showrooms concurrently running in Islington, Chelsea and Ascot. We have relocated our new showroom, due to London overheads, easily reached between A1 or A10 to just outside of Hertford, Hertfordshire.
