A marvelous bronze statue of a maiden in classical robe playing a double flute, is known as “Muses des Bois”. . The sculptor Eugene Marioton 1854-1933 enjoyed a strong reputation and exhibited at the salon starting 1882.

This piece shows fine detail and movement on her robe. She stands on a circular bronze base which has nice gold gilt rose decoration.

Eugene Marioton’s work is highly collectable worldwide.
