Art Deco Silver Oval Wafer Box G'Smiths & S'Smiths
Stunning large sterling silver biscuit or wafer box by the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company hallmarked for London 1933 to the rear and full company marks to the base. Lovely oval shape with classic plain art deco design with fine reeded bands around the top and bottom. The lid hinges open to reveal a clean silver interior. A top quality item, good looking and very useful given its size.
It measures 6 1/2" (17cm) long, 4 1/4" (11cm) wide and 3 1/4" (8cm) high. It weighs 526g/18.6oz/16.9ozt. Condition is excellent there is a very small scratch near the bottom of one side. Otherwise just light surface wear, the marks to the rear are very slightly rubbed, perfectly clear to the base. The lid and hinge closes beautifully. Christmas Posting we are posting up until Monday 23rd December!
