A rare & breathtakingly beautiful guilloche enamel compact with the most exquisite enamel scene

A gorgeous fully hallmarked sterling silver blue guilloche enamel compact made in the 1920s in Austria. The whole piece is in outstanding condition.

The lid is decorated with the most exquisite enamel depicting " The Music Lesson " by Nicolas Lancret " & such attention to detail! I have included three images of the lid & base so that you can see there isn't any enamel loss or damage. So hard to stop the light reflecting on the enamel. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The most gorgeous vivid blue guilloche enamel sides & base without any damage - very beautiful! All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The lid lifts to reveal a vermeil interior. The powder well has a rotating gilded silver lid which will allow either tiny or small amounts of powder to be dispensed. This mechanism still works perfectly today & the whole piece is superbly made. The mirror bezel is gilded sterling silver and is fully hallmarked as is the rest of the compact. The bevelled mirror gives an excellent clear reflection.

The compact must have been a collector's piece as it does not look used. It is so hard to find compacts of this age in such superb condition.
