Antique Solid Silver Small Liqueur Tantalus c1900
An unusual Small Antique Liqueur Tantalus with a pair of solid silver topped bottles The Tantalus is made of walnut with burr walnut veneer sides. It has a fully working Rimmel of London Lock with working key.
Measuring approx. 6 3/4" x 6" (excluding handle) x 3 3/4". The matched pair of perfume bottles are stamped G Keller (for Gustave Keller, Paris) and are hallmarked with the French Silver marks of the Minerva head on the collars and on the inside of lids. The top of the silver lids has been engraved with an armorial crest.
Each bottle has an etched neo classical design and both have original glass stoppers. One is slightly larger than the other (approx. 5" and 4 3/4" in height). The whole piece weighs a little under 1.2 Kg,
