Pretty as a picture, this Edwardian oval sterling silver box stands on four elegant legs. The sides have an embossed or repousse decoration featuring a series of ribbon and bow motifs.

The lid is beautifully decorated with a romantic courting couple in a rural or garden scene. The id lifts to reveal a gilded underside and lined in a deep green silk.

The silver is fully hallmarked for the highly collectable assay office of Chester and the year 1905 together with the makers initails for the famous silversmith, James Deakin & Sons.

Excellent condition measuring 3 3/8" x 2 3/8" x 1 7/8" tall.
