This vintage compact is suitable for use with loose face powder or as a handbag mirror.

It is traditional to give antique silver powder compacts as christening gifts.

An ornate fully hallmarked Italian solid silver powder compact in excellent condition with the original sifter. The lid (image one) & base (image two) are decorated with the most beautiful scroll work. The edges are scalloped & the whole piece elegant & very beautiful. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The bevelled mirror gives a perfect reflection.

This charming solid silver vintage powder compact measures 8 cm X 6.5 cm & weighs 57.1 grams.
