This is an antique fireside trivet. An English, brass kettle rest or decorative stand, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880.
Delightfully polished stand with skilful monogram to centre
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order
Golden tones beam from the lightly polished brass
Monogram set within the pierced top for 'SJ'
Raised upon four squat legs, united by rolled stretcher rails
Naturally weathered reverse from decades of dependable use
This is a charming antique fireside trivet, displaying great tonality and pleasingly decorative. As useful today as it was nearly 150 years ago. Delivered polished and ready for the hearth.
