Antique English Silver Cigar Box / Humidor - 1905
A fabulous chunky double cigar box / humidor. Standing on four original ball feet, the box has two lidded compartments, lined in Cedar wood to keep the contents fresh. These are often referred to as Humidors, this is a modern invention and so isn't officially a humidor it is the Cedar wood that did the job.
Made from English sterling silver, there are numerous hallmarks to all the components, most rubbed due to the smooth finish of the box. The marks can be made out to be for Birmingham 1905, a true Edwardian example.
An impressive piece in excellent condition, minor wear commensurate with age. 10" x 6" x 4 1/2" tall to top of handle.
