An Austrian Goldscheider bronze
A large Austrian Goldscheider bronze of George and the Dragon. Very well sculpted and cast with fine detail and patina. Bearing both foundry mark and signature. We have been in touch with Golscheider and unfortunately they were unable to identify the artist, stating " Goldscheider produced over 10.000 different models and we could track only about half of them, it’s probably one of the pieces which is rather rare and wasn’t produced in higher editions." 940mm high, 410mm wide and 280mm deep. Circa 1930.
