This lovely antique chest of drawers is a nice country piece, but does need some restoration work. It dates from c.1780 and is constructed from solid oak. The chest consists of two smaller drawers over three long graduated drawers. The drawers have old replacement brass handles and escutcheons and they all retain their locks (also old replacements), but please note that no key is present. The chest is supported on bracket feet, which have been cut down at some point.

Condition Overall this is a lovely chest of drawers, but it is in need of some restoration work. The drawers are stiff and the drawer runners need attention. There are some signs of old restoration - there is an old repair to the top and the bottom drawer has a replacement back panel. There is some shrinkage cracking to top and sides and to the drawer bases. The feet are worn and the woodwork piece has scuffing, knocking, marking and wear which is heavy in places.
