A splendid late 19th century French walnut work, or sewing, table. Of excellent construction and offered for sale in wonderful condition, with a great colour and patina. The shaped top is decorated with profuse floral marquetry inlay in satinwood, mahogany, rosewood etc. The top lifts up to reveal a fitted interior in birds eye maple with a mirror, a pull out drawer and fitted compartments. The freeze of the table is decorated to all sides with geometric parquetry inlay. The table is embellished throughout with crisp brass mounts. It stands on turned , fluted and tapering legs united by x-frame under-stretchers, surmounted by a central brass urn. A charming table , ready to go straight into the home.
