Edwardian Mahogany Cantilever Sewing Table / Box
A mahogany cantilever workbox with a whole range of potential uses! The box, which dates from 1910-20, is unusually mounted on legs. It was originally intended as a sewing box, but could be used as a side table, storage box, or display table. It has 4 smaller compartments, the top 2 with hinged lids, and a larger compartment in the base. The hinges and cantilevers are brass.
Dimensions:
Closed: Width 45cm, Depth 25.5cm, Height 78cm.
Open: Width 123cm, Depth 25.5cm, Height 78cm.
The box has been carefully restored and finished with protective wax. There are minor marks to the wood and brass, including a small repair to the top surface. Please examine the photographs and feel free to ask us any questions, or request more pictures. The box is permanently affixed to the legs.
