Edwards & Roberts Inlaid Mahogany Chest of Drawers
A superb quality inlaid mahogany bow fronted chest of drawers by the prestigious firm of Edwards and Roberts of London. A George III period mahogany bow chest with later inlaid detailing dating from circa 1890 by Edwards and Roberts. The inlay is in satinwood and boxwood and is of the highest quality. There is an arrangement of 2 short over 3 long, graduated drawers which afford ample storage capacity. All standing on out-swept bracket feet. Sympathetically refinished in our workshops to the highest of standards. Now offered for sale in excellent overall condition with a splendid colour and patina, ready to go straight into the home.

Edwards & Roberts was founded in 1845, and had premises at 21 Wardour Street London. By 1892 they occupied more than a dozen buildings in Wardour Street, where they continued to trade until the end of the century. They became one of the leading London cabinet makers and retailers working in a variety of styles, both modern and revivalist. Their business also involved retailing, adapting and restoring the finest antique furniture and there are many examples of their earlier antique furniture with later embellishments bearing their stamp. Edwards & Roberts specialized in marquetry, inlay and ormolu.
