Celtic Long Sword (La Tene Culture), Circa Early 1st Century AD.
Said to have been found in the river Frome not far from the site of Maiden Castle (Iron age Hillfort) Dorset, July 1936.
Fine river found condition. Totally stable. Professionally conserved in the past. App. 20cm of one edge of the blade shows some signs of delamination (as shown in the photo).
94 cm long. Listed items are usually available to view at the Red House Antiques Centre in York.
