Indian Artillery Sword.
Mid 19th century Indian artillery sidearm. This intriguing short sword with full width tang and checkered leather slab grips and D - guard would appear to be of Indian manufacture and is likely for use as an Indian artillery sidearm. The guard bares native script and the grip seems to be inspired by the 1853 universal cavalry sword. This is the only one I have encountered, therefore would likely be quite scarce.
