Splendid mid 18th.c. oak coffer c.1760. Faceted arched lid (with flat top) opening to reveal useful storage space inside plus a small separate lidded compartment at each end. Good decorative front with carved and inlaid detail to the top rail and panels, between broad fluted front stiles. Note the unusual large pierced brackets below the bottom rail. Original iron work with working lock and key. Panelled oak sides and rear. Oak floor boards. Old repair to the front right hand stile. Otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
