WW2 Belgian victory medal, with service swords.

This medal was established in 1945 by royal decree of the Regent, Prince Charles Count of Flanders and Prince of Belgium, to recognise the service men and women who served during world war two. It was also awarded to members of the Belgian resistance.
The crossed swords ribbon devices denote combat service in 1940 campaign or service in the armed resistance.
Other ribbon devices, not with this medal, include crossed anchors (naval service), lightning flashes (intelligence), lion (mentioned in despatches).

The medal is not engraved with the recipient's name.

This full size original medal measures approximately 3.7 cm (1.5") in diameter excluding the suspension ring.
