Interesting African ceremonial sword & scabbard
Interesting African ceremonial sword from Africa.
This sword is known to be genuine and not a typical tourist piece.
It was presented to the person from whom I purchased it in a ceremony carried out by a tribal Oba.
The sword is extensively decorated which is hard to see due to the surface rust.
It has not been cleaned, it is as found.
The piece is believed to be dating to circa 1900.
It is one of several African pieces that was presented to the gentleman during his time in Africa working in a relevant position of importance and dealing with different tribes.

Sword, within scabbard: 61 cm
Sword alone: 57 cm
Offered with free UK Mainland postage from a premium fully insured courier.
