Wonderful Antique Flame Mahogany Serpentine Chest
A wonderful flame mahogany serpentine chest of drawers with brushing slide standing on bracket feet. This fine quality 19th Century chest of drawers has been constructed with with beautiful slender serpentine and the finest flame mahogany veneers which over the years have obtained a wonderful colour and patination.
Having a serpentine shaped front and sided solid mahogany top with ovolo moulded edge sitting above a cockbeaded shaped brushing slide with brass dutch drops, below which are four graduated bookmatched veneered flame mahogany serpentine drawers having fine cockbeading with original brass swan neck handles and central brass locks and escutcheons.
Raised on shaped bracket feet this lovely quality chest of drawers is in excellent condition having been fully resotored using traditional methods with super faded mellow flame mahogany colour that is hard to beat with striking veneers.
This chest has very good proportions and will have a fine additional to any home.
