Victorian Christopher Dresser Candlestick c1880
For sale we have a very attractive Christopher Dresser design copper and brass candlestick.
This eye catching copper and brass candlestick is of a typical Christopher Dresser aesthetic design consisting of half beehive copper base extending to a brass column which extends to a turned ebonised fruit wood handle and terminates in a stylistic copper and brass flower. The candlestick dates from around 1880-1890, is unmarked but retain its original base plate and will have been made by Benham and Froud.
This large Dresser candle stick is approximately 8 & 1/4 inches (21cm) high and approximately 4 & 1/4 inches (9.5cm) in diameter. The candlestick in a very good original antique condition although the copper base does carry one small indentation see picture 2.
