A Very Pretty Bespoke Painted Waring & Gillows Chest of Six Drawers.

Perfect for the boutique bedroom or bathroom.

The Chest -

Legendary Gillows Quality
Cabinet / Craftsman made, this lovely antique chest (c.1900), is signed, stamped, badged and numbered.
(All original identifying marks retained).
Solid Teak / Hardwood Construction throughout, with lovely moulded plaster detailing to each drawer and exquisite applied floral motif.
Each drawer is fitted with the original Gillows branded brass lock (key will be supplied).
All-original, high-quality hardware in solid brass.
Hugely practical and useable.

The Paintwork -

This chest has been carefully prepared and painted, in-house, to a very high standard.
The main colour is 'French Grey Deep' from Little Greene. This is a sophisticated yet versatile grey that will fit comfortably into practically any colour scheme. The highlights are in the complimentary 'French Grey Mid', again from Little Greene.

This grey can look quite different in varying situations. In a brightly lit room, it will appear light, clean and neutral. In shaded rooms (or when lit by artificial light) it can appear quite deep, warm and moody.

The piece has therefore shot under varying lighting conditions, to help give an impression of how the colour can shift. We have 50+ images on file, so please email for further photographs, if necessary.

Dimensions114 cms high x 52.5 cms wide x 45 cms deep Category Antique Furniture Date 1900  Edwardian Antiques Material Teak Origin English Maker Gillows Condition The main carcass, prior to paint, had around 100 years use, but is in good, sound, clean condition with absolutely no structural issues. There are a few knocks / dents and minor losses, but nothing that seriously detracts. There are some minor marks to the interior drawers, but all very acceptable and clean. The chest has just been painted and the finish is as shown. The back has not been painted but this could be done, if necessary, prior to dispatch, at the instruction of the new owner.
