Small Victorian mahogany press wardrobe
This is a good late Victorian wardrobe / cupboard. It is made in a very exotic wood. I guess it is mahogany but if it is it is a very exotic type of mahogany. The wood grain is beautiful. The wardrobe was made in the latter part of the reign of Queen Victoria, 1890 or so. It is a small narrow wardrobe so won't over power your space. The wardrobe is beautifully made with cornice above. It has receded panels to the front and stands on bracket feet.
The wardrobe was intended for a hall and has its original hooks for hanging coats etc. It is has been fitted out with shelves so could be used as a down stairs cupboard or an upstairs press for storing bed linen etc.
The wardrobe is in wonderful condition. The mahogany is well polished. Tiny slither off beading on door lip but this is very minor. It is a beautiful piece with a lot of elegance. There is something of the feel of the Arts and Crafts to the design.
The wardrobe is 44 inches wide and 74.5 inches high and 17 inches deep.
