Set of 10 Victorian 19C oak dining chairs
Antique quality set of 10 Victorian 19C oak dining chairs.
A great rare find, with a lovely golden oak colour, age, patina and charm.
Solid heavy dining chairs, with no loose joints and no significant woodworm.
Brass and ceramic castors to the front legs (some wear as you would expect) and a couple replaced.
Purchased in 1987 for £2000 and valued at £2500 for insurance purposes in the same year (see photos of documents).
Sought after style of dining chair, with comfortable padded backs.
The upholstery is not new and does have some light wear and marks. We haven't inspected beneath the upholstery but the structure of the sprung seats appears to be in good order (no lumps and bumps).
Overall maximum dimensions
Chair 50cmW x 51cmD x 92cmH (47cmH seat when sat on).
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, repairs and alterations, as is always the way with antique furniture of this age.
