A wonderful pair of heavily carved walnut chairs from Italy, these date to the 17th century and will look great in a large hall or reception area.

- Intricate carving to the splats and the deep apron section.
- Wide flat seats.
- Box stretchers.
- Highly decorative.
- Originating from Italy, probably Bologna.

In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use. There are signs of dead woodworm throughout, as is often the case for pieces over 300 years old, this adding to their character. There are some later iron brackets under the seats which have been used to strengthen them and some chips from the wooden feet pads.
