Fine pair of large late 19th.c. spelter figures of two splendidly costumed warriors on moulded plinths c.1890. After the French born sculptor Arthur Waagen (1869-1910), crisply cast with a signature to the base of each. Minor damage to the helmet and dagger in the belt of the figure with the dragon helmet. Otherwise very good condition with traces of the original gilding.
