Unusual late 19th.c mahogany office bookcase with sliding doors and pigeon holes c.1890. Bookcase top with two glazed sliding doors fitted inside with six adjustable shelves (depth 9"). Over a deeper base with nine large pigeon holes with lockable fall fronts. Internal dimensions 16" x 14" x 9", big enough for A4 paper, the middle row fitted inside with dividers which could be removed if preferred. Moulded pilasters flanking each vertical row of pigeon holes, otherwise free of any applied decoration. Raised on a square plinth. Solid mahogany doors, fall fronts and linings to the pigeon holes, solid mahogany cabinet sides top and bottom. Original brass locks and hinges. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
