Stunning quality little Edwardian oak writing desk by the celebrated English makers Gillows of Lancaster c.1905. Original leather top over three drawers and raised on the most fabulous carved legs front and rear. With shell and foliate detail to the knees and claw feet with a beaded collar. Carved and piereced brackets to the kneehole, pollard oak veneered drawer fronts with shaped detail, original brass drops and oak drawer linings. Clearly stamped Gillows of Lancaster on the locks and Waring & Gillow on the drawers. Polished on all sides so it can free stand in the middle of a room. Beautiful condition, original throughout.
