A cavalry troopers sword this is a really good example of a model 1840 cavalry sword uncleaned with great age patina the grip and binding wire show this has been used in the field the blade has half a dozen edge nicks a couple quiet deep these could have only been acquired from another sword this is a used heavy duty fighting sword. The blade is marked below the guard with a German crown and the letters GG the shoe drag is marked with three III the blade is rock solid in the hilt and dead straight with no twists or bends
