A superb example of a Japanese Tansu chest of the Meiji period circa 1860. Made in quality timber probably kiri wood or cedar. All the ironwork is 100% original and handmade. Superb colour and patina and totally original. A very iconic piece of Japanese antique furniture.
Very small size at only 33 1/4" wide x 15 1/4" deep x 40 3/4" tall.
All drawers run smoothly.
