Circa 1830, late George IV pollard oak ladies writing table. The rectangular top has a stylish pollard oak crossbanding and green leather insert in the centre. Beneath the top on the front is a full length drawer enclosing a writing slide with a similar crossbanded edge and blue leather writing surface with tooling and gilding. On the right hand side is a pen tray and various other compartments for ink etc. Beneath the drawer are stylish quarter blocks and table is supported by two robust rectangular uprights united by a cross stretcher with fine pollard oak veneers. From this rise two squat sabre legs on both sides finishing on brass toes which would have originally had castors. The table has wonderful colour and patination.

Size 76cm high x 61.5cm wide x 46cm deep.
