Georgian Mahogany Cellarette With Decanters
Small size George 3rd mahogany cellarette with boxwood line inlay and shaped cross banding to the top and front. Stands on finely turned legs with original brass castors. The stand section is blocked onto the box section underneath and is un-touched. The cellerette has its original brass lock with working key and has old but not original brass side handles.
The inside is beautifully fitted which is ALL original and it comes complete with 8 period decanters which I would say were all original to the box. The inside of the lid matches the outside which is a sign of quality.
The cellarette is basically in pretty good condition and is a lovely colour with good patination and waxed finish. There are a couple of old veneer repairs and some of the boxwood line has been replaced in the past. One of the smaller decanters has a chipped neck but the rest are perfectly ok except for wear to the original gilding.
It is not common to find a Georgian cellarette with original decanters.
