Antique Georgian dropwell carved oak bureau desk writing table bookcase. A lot of alteration and carving in later Victorian times.

Very useful bookcase section on the top, with loads of drawers and compartments. Great early dropwell design with hidden secret compartment in the dropwell.

This is a lovely bureau, that is full of age, charm and character.

No loose joints and the drawers slide freely (some marks inside as is to be expected).

Good shape and fantastic proportions.

Rare, unusual item.

Overall maximum dimensions 92cmW x 50cmD x 132cmH (77cmH writing surface).
Bookshelf 76cmW x 20cmD x 30cmH space above shelf (front opening 27cmH).

Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, wear, imperfections, repairs and alterations, as is always the way and to be expected with genuine antique furniture. No keys and the locks are untested. Later handles. Dissimilar knobs on internal drawers. There are some historic extinct woodworm holes (as one would expect), that we have treated for good measure.
