Arts & Crafts Walnut Writing Desk and Games Table
An Arts & Crafts walnut writing desk and games table c1910, having a hinged swivel-action rectangular moulded top with an original red tooled leather writing surface opening to reveal its original green felt baize, above a singular drawer and cupboard door with satinwood banding and ebonised stringing, with pierced fretwork apron, raised on square tapered legs.
In good overall condition, no breaks or repairs. The drawer runs well with very little, to no use at all. The leather skiver is in really good condition. I have left the original baize which is ok, but does have a split down the joint.
76cmH x 83cmW x 46cmD (when closed)
91cmD (when open)
Knee hole height 59cm Our stock items are carefully selected by myself and I only buy good quality items which may need small repairs, a clean and a polish. I don't buy any items that need major restoration, but any loose joints are re-glued. Occasionally, some items may have small amounts of historic extinct woodworm, never enough to affect the integrity of the item, and is always treated as a matter of course. We try to describe and show our items the best we can, and we use studio lighting which sometimes lightens the colour slightly on some of the furniture. All lamps are rewired and PAT tested. Every item we sell we would have in our home (some of them have been!!) It is impossible to describe every item fully, so please feel free to email or call for more information or any queries you may have. The items will have no major defects but will show signs of normal age related wear and use. I would prefer the items to show its life rather than strip it and re-polish it, as it's only original once!
