George III C1770 crossbanded oak mule chest coffer
Antique George III C1770 oak with mahogany crossbanding mule chest coffer blanket box.
Solid, heavy and strong, with no loose joints and the drawers slide freely.
A rare piece that is full of character and charm.
Candle box.
Overall maximum dimensions:
126cmW x 55cmD x 83cmH, internally 117cmL x 49cmW x 48cmH (less space occupied by candle box).
Historic knocks, marks, scratches, cracks, repairs and alterations as is always the way. Extinct woodworm holes as would be expected, that have been treated for good measure. No key, lock untested. A few minor losses to the mahogany crossbanding. Original handles, one changed and one backplate missing. Slight gap in top where two planks have separated.
Please note that this item is large and heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide a strong able bodied person for our driver to assist with carrying..
