George 3rd Scottish Mahogany Serpentine Chest Scottish Georgian Serpentine %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
Good all original condition late 18th century George III Scottish mahogany serpentine fronted chest of drawers. Four long drawers with cock beaded edges and boxwood line inlay. The drawers retain their original iron locks and very nice original rococo style gilded brass swan neck handles, the drawer linings are ash. The chest stands on its original swept out bracket feet. The canted corners are veneered in tiger maple. The top has ebony string around the edge and boxwood string further in.

The chest is in very good condition with no repairs, the only slight fault is the joints in the ends have opened up a wee bit.

The chest retains a very nice deep patination and is a lovely colour. It has had a sKin of polish applied probably in Edwardian times to the top and fronts.

SIZE 47" wide by 23 1/2" deep at the deepest point and it stands 39" high
