Fine Scottish Mahogany Cased 8 Day Longcase Clock


Good early Victorian period Scottish mahogany cased 8 day longcase clock by ROBERT MILLER of PERTH. Stunning quality mahogany case, all veneered in the best quality flame mahogany veneers with nice shape top to the hood and carved decoration above the trunk door. The antique clock has flame mahogany veneered columns with bow-fronted trunk door. The base has a double reeded mould about 1 1/4" in from the edge with nice carved fans to the corners. Lovely quality original heavy cast brass bezel with original glass.
The clock has a plain white dial with original movement which is all in full working order having been recently fully serviced. The clock has its original weights, painted pendulum and original winding key.
Robert Miller is recorded as having been working in Perth between 1835 and 1845
The clock case is in very good condition apart from an old filled hairline crack to the base and is a gorgeous rich colour with original patination.
