European Folk Art Coffer
This coffer is a simply fabulous piece of Folk Art antique furniture.
It is a very honest piece, well used, with a hinged lid and tallow box inside. Providing lots of storage space inside.
Painted in dark hues with red, green, white & blue floral 'panels' along the front, ends and lid. Each floral panel is punctuated by the figures 1.9.3.0.
It is reminiscent of Dutch or Scandinavian folk art.
However, I feel this piece might be Eastern European, potentially Slovakian.
