'My Favourite Pet' by Emily Farmer (1826-1905). Originally a miniaturist who later turned to genre painting,exhibiting at the Royal Academy from 1847.

She is best known for her watercolours of children and our painting is a particularly fine example. Signed and dated 1870. Size 8.5 x 6.5 ins.
