Early 20th C. Pressed Glass Rose Perfume Bottle

1 of 6
This is a very attractive early 20th Century Pressed Glass Perfume Bottle. The bottle is hexagonal with a frosted pressed rose design on each side. The neck is circular with a spherical faceted stopper.
Pressed glass was developed in the mid-nineteenth century in the USA and soon became a popular process in Europe. It reached its finest expression under the likes of Rene Lalique in the 1920s and 1930s and is still a widely used technique today. As with much 20th century glass, this bottle is unmarked with either a maker's or perfumier's name but stylistically we believe it is most probably French and dates to around the 1920s/30s.
Condition is good with just some nibbles to the bottom of the stopper and a flattening on one side of the rim which appears to be part of the manufacturing process. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The bottle stands 12cm / 4.7ins high, is 6cm / 2.3ins across the base and weighs 153.6g / 5.4oz.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail Tracked 24.
