Early 19th century Italian marble top commode
Very decorative early 19th century Italian marble top commode in black walnut with inlays and chevron inlaid banding, chamfered front corners with further inlays and stands on tapered legs with brass caps.
Really is a wonderful colour and so striking with the chevron bandings, complimenting the warm tones and finished with brass handles and caps to the feet.
The commode ( or chest of drawers ) has three full width drawers, so offers good storage but without compromising on style! Being on the raised tapered legs gives an elegance to a really good size piece of antique furniture, also with the chamfered front corners and that of the original marble top too.
Good condition and a super decorative piece.
Measuring:
32 1/2 inches or 82.5 cm high
48 1/4 inches or 122.5 cm wide
21 inches or 53.5 cm deep Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
