Dutch Marquetry Bureau
A good late18th century Dutch walnut and marquetry inlaid bureau of bombe form. The front, top and sides profusely inlaid with floral designs in various stained woods and the three oak lined drawers all retain the original brass handles and escutcheons. The interior is beautifully fitted with an arrangement of 8 various sized drawers and a central cupboard all with floral marquetry inlay. The interior also benefits from a marquetry inlaid well, and the fall interior has further marquetry within a diamond shaped boxwood frame.The font is raised on claw and ball legs, the back on bracket feet.
